WoW Character Class and Profession
Your
WoW Character Class and Profession can get a little overwhelming. The classes available
are Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock and
Warrior. We will also be going over the three different types of
profession levels and their respective professions.
The three profession levels are
Primary, Gathering and Secondary. Under the Primary Profession
category there are Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting,
Disenchanting, Engineering, Inscription, Jewel Crafting,
Leatherworking and Tailoring. The Gathering Professions consist of
Herbalism, Mining and Skinning. Finally, the Secondary Professions
are Fishing, Cooking, Lock Picking and First Aid.

When choosing your character’s
profession there are certain key points you will want to first have
clarified. For example, do you prefer going on solo quests to being
a part of a group? If you are a person who prefers to do things by
yourself, quests included, you should probably become a Shaman,
Rogue or Paladin. Although these classes are better equipped for
handling solo quests than other classes are, you will still need to
team up with others every once in a while to complete certain
quests, namely the more “elite” quests that require multiple players
to finish.
Another question you should ask
yourself is whether or not you want to be able to roam around while
still making a profit in your chosen profession. Certain
professions require you to stay in one area for a majority of the
time in order to become successful at it. One profession that
requires you to be centrally located is Jewel Crafting, because the
Jewel Crafter constantly needs to cut gems, trade within the cities
and monitor the Auction House for prices. In other words, you have
to treat your World of Warcraft Jewel Crafting profession like your
own virtual business in order to be successful. Farming is another
profession that requires you to stay in a certain area for a long
period of time. Make sure you have enough food and water to keep
your character going. Stay focused when farming to ensure you get
your crops once they have dropped. The longer your stay focused,
the more profit you will end up making. If staying centralized is
not something you desire, try a profession such as Enchanting or
Alchemy that will allow you to roam more freely.
When researching classes, remember
that there are three unique talent trees. Talent trees have
different levels of learning, some requiring prerequisites. What
the three trees consist of depends on which class you choose. As
characters develop, they are able to hone their skills by assigning
class talent points in any of their class’ trees. Collecting class
sets is a way players can improve a character when they have reached
their level cap. More raid sets have special armor items already
designed specifically for a certain class. Faction reward sets also
include neck pieces and trinkets. Remember it does not matter which
class you chose so long as you are willing to stand behind it and
not give up. If your class becomes less powerful always remember
that power distributions are constantly changing.
Researching something is the best way
to figure it out. Try researching the various classes and
